The application to transfer from J&W, LLC to Michael Rice's Company that was filed back in 06/2005 is still pending..
http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/app_det.pl?Application_id=1066696
The last applicaiton was denied about 6 or 6 months after it was filed. Why is it taking so long for this to be taken care of, one way or another?

I went to inspect the public file and check out their studios the day after the sale was announced. I know they've since upgraded their studios, but back then.. about 2 years ago.. their studios like like the belonged back in the early 90s.. no computer automation and old rotary pot console.

And by the wya, everything in the public file seemed to be in order :)

WHy the FCC doesn't deny this transfer, I don't know. Rice is a [EDIT] and I was able to figure out, thru some careful research..... that he had a hand in this station from the get go, at least since J&W owned it........

[EDIT-possibly libelous remark. In the future please offer substantiation]

The WAPZ application was not denied. It was dismissed because the annual license fee was not paid in a timely manner. The FCC will not grant an assignment application if money was owed to the FCC. The assignment application was refiled. Mr.Walker needs to get his facts straight.

The Rice company has had an LMA for WAPZ since the application was filed. He can program, promote and sell time. Anyone can LMA a station for years. There is a long term LMA at WAPZ.

Who know how long it takes for the FCC to grant applications, some are rubber stamped, others seem to take a long time.

Interestingly, WAPZ is rated # 11 out of 22 stations [EDIT] in the latest ARB. Programming must be working.
