Just like the TV commercials ... "Absolutely free! Just pay additional shipping and handling." Every time I see these types of commercials on TV, I want to scream .... "They're not absolutely free if we are required to pay ANYTHING." Okay ... I'm off my soapbox for now. I feel better.
Maybe the sarcasm didn't come across, but I am making fun of this. It is fake. They hire actors. I think it is very odd to present something as "real" on the air when it is completely made up. Since this is fake, is everything else the hosts say on the show fake also?
Why does radio insist on insulting its listeners intelligence?
It's entertainment and radio is limited. Baltbusters, senseless surveys, jam scams, all the same. Every show has their angle, you think Billy Costa has no idea he'll be the butt of every joke? It's just a show not news radio.
It may not be fake. Especially for Hot 96.9's Baltbusters, where Baltazar identifies that it's a prank phone call. If they get consent from everyone, then they can air the call. I'm sure that most will give consent after laughing it off.
