War!

How dare you Canadians/Canadiens jam WKOX 1200 in Boston. It is creating all sorts of problems for our listening pleasure. Cease and Desist. BTW, who is the guilty station?

Team 1200 in Ottawa (CFGO, owned by Chum group) may be the cause, depending on which Canadian City you are closer to.
Is Boston's station the one that used to say "Get in the game...the Game...sports radio 1200" where ever that comes from, that's the station I tended to pick up a while back while tuning in from the Toronto area.

When I'm in Ottawa, Something from both 1190 and 1210 want to pull in, but they fade in and out.
______________

1190 WLIB pulls in (and out) as far away as northern new England at night on a car radio. Its 30kW I think. The station in Boston at 1200 is WKOX which is libtalk, but I don't know what is was before (I thought, brokered). At 1000 watts at night, 10,000 day it probably wasn't doing much damage.

CFGO 1200 is broadcasting legally at 1200 Khz, with a legal signal as per Canadian law and Canada/US treaties. The fact that WKOX is trying to cover all of Boston with 1Kw at night is more likely the problem.

Thanks Ian...yes that would be a good point, so then, the best thing to do is to bug the Boston station for an increase?
______________

They're likely already at maximum possible power for that frequency in that area. A change of frequency could work, but I'm not too sure there's much room to move on the AM dial in that area.

WKOX was brokered from around 1995-2004. The station has never had a sports format, although it was rumored to adopt one twice. Additionally, the night signal reaches only the surrounding towns, so the station that was heard in Toronto was probably the Ottawa 1200.

NO because OSR 1200 never said "The game...sports radio 1200" and neither did the later formed team 1200 when Chum bought the station from Rawlco.
(right ian???...um...I think I'm right that it was not 1200 from Ottawa?)
______________
