The ad for it is on Allaccess. How long has the position been vacant? I'm from outside the market and am interested in any inside poop, opinions or rumors. Any idea what the gig could pay?

Don't get your hopes up on the money. Susquehanna trained its employees not to expect any raises during the last decade of its existence...and especially during the last 3 years or so. (Cumulus may offer it's new employees pay increases each year, but may also start them on a low note.) It just took Susquehanna almost its entire history of 60 or so years to catch up with the pathetic "let's pay them as little as possible" mentally of other radio stations in cenyral P-A. That amounts to a feather in Susqhanna's cap. The story doesn't stop there: Susquehanna offered its employees pension accounts they did not contribute to, PLUS a 401K plan. No radio stations in central P-A other than Susquehanna stations can say they're offering that benefit. If so, I'd like to hear about it.

For years, Susquehanna stood head and shoulders above any other broadcasting company in Central PA. It's why it was very difficult to get in. Once you were in, you tended to stay until retirement. But it's a whole new world now. Those days aren't coming back or the extra benefits.
