I must say that I like the way Warm 103 is sounding these days. A few months ago, they tweaked the music to sound a bit softer and added the 70s back into the mix. For a while, they were sounding very similar to The Rose and trying to be "hip" with the All 80s Saturday Nights and Flashback Lunch. I find myself tuning into 103.3 more often than I did before. Btw, I'm a 32 year old male.
 
i think the sleeping giant woke up. i remember in the late 80's living and working at wmar tv in baltimore. you could pick up the stick very well in the parking lot on 6400 york rd.
 
Too little too late. The radio landscape has changed. With LAN, Rose, and Channel appealing to younger females and SOX and Peak filling the needs of older females, not to mention the female #s from country, this station is in trouble. Cumulus brass in Atlanta only need to look at what just happened in their town last week to figure out what to do. Putting WSBA's talk format on 103.3 is the way to go. An FM talker could appeal to the entire region of York-Lancaster-Harrisburg vs music that can be found elsewhere. With the current political landscape in this country, now is the perfect time to do this.
 
Could WARM (as WSBA-FM) simulcast Rush, tromping on WHP580 turf ? With all of the syndicated
stuff 910 broadcasts, this would seem to be a potential problem. On the other hand (as I mentioned in the ALL NEWS post), there's a lot of syndicated news shows that need a Central PA home. They would probably need something during O's broadcasts too.

Word of caution: Cumulus took on the top Indianapolis AM talk station with FM talk a few years ago and had their head handed to them (that Emmis AM later moved their talk to FM and moved up to #2). The bottom line is, if you don't know what you're doing with news/talk, don't bother!
 
Maybe it is time for an FM sports talk station here - I really enjoy 105.7 The Fan from Baltimore/DC
 
sports talk on 103.3 would only work if it was affiliated with ESPN Radio. that is THE brand today as far as sports broadcasting is concerned. they could run "Mike and Mike " in morning drive and do ok with that...would probibly have to come up with a some local programing from 10am to 6pm to make it all work and that would be expensive. nights, overnights and weekends could be covered quite well with ESPN programing.

Well, plenty of other music options available for you if it happened. It probably won't. That would leave WSOX as the only music FM in that building then. WARM, as a second tier York music station, can probably still make more money than an FM talk station.
 
Talk or Sports?.......not gonna happen! On another post it's been noted that WARM has tweaked the format. They need to give this a chance. Many of us feel that they are now more on target.....so they need to see how this plays out before making knee-jerk changes.
