Warm 98

Anyone else notice they are playing more older soft rock songs on warm 98 istead of the ac and hot ac hits they used to have mixed in?

Check out the rececent playlist to see what I mean: http://web.yes.com/#WRRM

I usually dont listen to warm because of the new ac music but I love the tweek in the format and the new voice over guy inbetween songs instead of just the woman they usually have saying Warm 98 in between songs.

There is a thread about this over on the AC Board, but I think it warrants discussion here as well.

My thoughts (which I expressed in more general terms in the AC Board thread)... It's probably some sort of response to the 3-way Gold-based battle brewing between WGRR, Rewind, and Mojo. (Interestingly, Rewind is also digging more into the 70's than they used to.)

My guess is that Cumulus is setting up Warm as something of a flanker to WGRR. Which kind of surprises me, because I thought Warm was doing pretty well on it's own.

I've noticed they juiced the audio. It's not like it was when Steve Crum set them up years ago. It was very unaggressive in the clipping. Now it's very tightly processed. Not good when they air jazz or classical.
