WARM--ANYONE INTERESTED IN BRINGING WARMLAND BACK????

At seeing this incredibly nostalgic thread at 19,887 responses, am merely adding one here to help get it to 20,000.

That might be more hits than Sharon Stone has had on her in recent times.

(Now that I am a 'made' NE PA-nian, keeping up with my wife and her twenty-ton Scranton accent for the past 20 years, I still vow to do a two-hour WARM air shift once per week, gratis.
Well, okay. Maybe a veggie pizza as compensation.
Someone send me WARM jingles from 1963 for show-prep)

"Someone send me WARM jingles from 1963 for show-prep"

I'll have to have PAM sing them for you! :D

A fun filled weekend is here
And you're on the go
And livin' it up with livin-up(?) radio WARM
We'll keep you goin' all in style
And make you happy for a while
Wonderful WARM! ;D

Excuse me Mr. (fill in the blank)
Would you happen to know the time?
("It's 7:02" or whatever)
the temperature?
(590 degrees)
How about the weather?
(We'll have tornadoes tonight and snow flurries tomorrow!)

What's the weather today?
What's the weather man say?
Is it sunny and fair?
Is it blowin' out there?
If you leave that old umbrella
Will you be a sorry fella?
WARM can tell you
What's the weather today!

(It's only WARM for me!)

OK, it's been a while since those songs have played in my head,
so here are a few addendums and corrections. :-[

After the time and temperature inquisition, there is an additional:

Well no matter what the weather,
the listening couldn't be better
on Wonderful WARM!

And for the weekend jingle, it was more like this:

A fun-filled weekend is here
And you're on the go
And livin' it up with livin-it-up(?) radio WARM
We're bound to give you a great big smile
And keep you smiling all the while
Tune Wonderful WARM!

cough

Alright, here's the 1963 version of this:

Excuse me Mr. (fill in the blank)
Would you happen to know the time?
("It's 7:02")
the temperature?
(590 degrees)
How about the weather?
(We'll have tornadoes tonight and snow flurries tomorrow!)
♫ Well no matter what the weather
The listening couldn't be better,
so go go go with wonderful WARM radio ♫

Yes, i know that "go go go" is a non-sequitor, but that's the way it was.

I'm sure there were other 1963 jingles, but I'm not recalling them.

I seem to recall a "WARM [rapid drum solo] SPORTS!"

And of course, the ever-popular "♫ WARM, the mighty five ninety ♫" which could then be followed by
"presents the tune that's number one", or which could simply stand alone.

Some stations had simple IDs. "WBAX, Radio Channel 12!" or "WBAX in Wilkes-Bareeee"
"WNAK, Woming Valley"

While WBRE had a slew of really good ID tunes.

"W
You hear the happy hapy radio!
WBRE
the happy sound!
in Wilkes-Barre!
(bump-de dum)"
(bump de dum!) <--fanfare

"Listen Listen Listen" was a full-fledged song with three verses and a break after the seconed verse! :D

I don't recall ANY musical signatures for WILK prior to 1968. Seems they would have had some, but none come to mind.
They were kind of a big band/jazz station prior to the switch to rock and roll in 1968.

Feel free to dive into this discussion. ;D

Several years ago, I used to pick up WARM in the auditorium of my high school in Stroudsburg while in a study hall. Now I can barley pick them up in my car outside!
