WARM--ANYONE INTERESTED IN BRINGING WARMLAND BACK????

Move On with life!!! WARM will be no more!!!

And that is exactly what will happen, as the corporate robber barons in Atlanta allow that station to starve to death. That company or one of the companies which it acquired (Susquehanna?) did manage to register "Warm" as a trademark for a number of FM stations running a pukey AC format, including the former WSBA-FM in York. That will effectively kill any chance of an independent entity resurrecting WARM, even if Cumulus decides to sell the station...it will have to use new branding and different call letters, as it is unlikely that Cumulus would license the "WARM" trademark to a competitor, even if none of the stations in the Cumulus cluster run a similar format.

If Cumulus did sell WARM and if the new (hopefully local) owner could find call letters similar to "WARM", I would strongly suggest abandoning the Falls Township transmitter site and finding some real estate in an industrial area between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Lower power and a simpler antenna array (fewer than the current five towers) should work, combined with any FM translators that might become available. Most important is providing a deep null toward Harrisburg and toward Albany, NY.

Knowing Cumulus and the way they do business, they will just park the call letters on another station so that nobody in this area could use them.

right on, you are so right. ..

Somebody should try it as an online station .. There are automation/live assist programs that allow different DJ's to log in from their homes anywhere in the world.

Three hundred sixty four days is plenty long for this thread.

Five towers of power-never heard that one, very cool--

At the risk of sounding like a broken record--Come on up to the WARMLAND Mighty 590 reunion, August 10, 2013, at the Pocono Drag lodge 50th Anniversary reunion, at the Old Pocono DRag Lodge Strip, meadow run road, Bear Creek. Celebrities, listeners, anyone who would like to help us celebrate the Glory days of the Best station on the Planet, ever. Show starts at 9am but gates will open at 6 am for the cars. Tommy Woods, Joey Shaver, and Super newslady Paula Deignan will be guest celebrities. Joey will be spinning the oldies with the WARM Jingles between the tunes. Caution: if you are not a car nut, you might be after this event.

I was reading that the FCC will be "sunsetting" AM Analog stations to Digital. I am not that technical, But is WARM still analog? Just another hurdle to overcome in re-launching the Mighty 590...

Five towers of power, man I Can hear double G belting out a legal ID with his great Pipes: Five towers of Power---WARm-Scranton/ Wilkes-barre's No#1 station for all the hits....

<sigh>

Is it me, or is their signal unusually strong today? I'm listening to them right now with a pretty good signal here in Bethlehem. It's been a while since I listened since it's usually static, but tonight it's pretty good. Maybe atmospheric conditions?

No final decision by the FCC has been made about the fate of AM, but there are forces that would like to see an all-digital AM band become reality. IMNSHO that would be a big mistake!

This could be a BIG EVENT with some publicity. Have you considered getting in touch with Joe Nardone? He was involved with WARM events back in the day.

I have a question;
Who owns the most WARMland memorbilia in NEPA??? I know I never see anything at the Circle Drive In on Sundays........................
