THey tried it as Doo Wop oldies. Had a guy programming the station remotely from Citadel's office in Nevada. This ought to last about 3 months.

Too bad Citadel's criminal neglegence of the facility has resulted in a signal nobody can hear! Just think! They now own ABC's stations. If I worked for an AM in the group, i'd have my resume ready!

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF SAM LIGOURI IS STILL A PART OF WARM? HE WAS THE ONLY LIVE VOICE YOU EVER HEARD ON THAT STATION ON A LOCAL LEVEL. WILL HE STILL BE DOING POLKA WEEKEND? (THAT IS/WAS THE ONLY REAL INCOME THE STATION HAD FROM AD'S)

Gee. This is like Deja Vu all over again. What's next? A simulcast of Cat Country from Allentown on JR?

Sam was still there as of last weekend. He was doing the polka program.

Re: WARM - True Oldies Channel

This appears to be all Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel - no attempt this time to re-create any of The Mighty 590's Warmland imaging from the past as they did the last go-round. Funny this starts up just as the reincarnation of KB in Buffalo, perhaps the biggest attempt at the format along with WSAI, gives up.

Re: WARM GONE OLDIES!!!/A REVIEW

So I finally get the opportunity to get the
PenDot channel off of my settings and put 590
back on there. Imaging as True Oldies, I heard
Scott Shannon last night on the drive home opining
about "Jack" formats. This morning, there he was
again talking about the Grammys. I guess this is
going to be "All Scott Shannon All The Time!!"
The music is good, anytime you mix Motown and
the 4 Seasons, then you throw in a little Beatles
and Keith, it can't be that bad. But the signal in
Wilkes Barre is as good as, well the PenDot station.
No whiff of local programming, even a weather cast
evident when I was listening. Interesting to see
how a "local oriented" WICK will do with this bit,
and I emphasize the word "bit" of competition.

I'm hearing no other jock 24/7 except Mr. Shannon. This
weekend they are doing Twin Spins which is pretty cool
and they are running one WARM soft music oriented jingle.
(About 3 seconds). The very bad reception harkens back to
the sound quality of those little transistor radios we of
a certain age used to have. They were prehistoric IPODs.
I don't think that's what the "new" WARM is going for.

Re: WARM - True Oldies Channel

"very bad reception" - Dave, you're being too kind!

What's up with that? It's unlistenable, but I guess CItadel thinks that's ok? Blows my mind.
