Actually, the tale of Angel Kulick is a sad one. Angel loved her
job at WARM when Susquehanna and Tele Media ran the company. A
personable, friendly sort, Angel accomodated everyone's needs and
wishes with a smile and a work ethic that would make any coal miner
of the 30s pale by comparison. When Citadel took over, they too saw
the workmanlike qualities in Angel and slowly began to persuade her
to join the sales staff of one of the many stations they overpaid for
in the market. Relentlessly pursuing her, they bribed her with a Dr.
Suess book, a Citadel windbreaker and a trip to Larry's ranch in the
huge state of Wyoming. It might have been the mountain air, but Angel
gave in to the pressure and became a Citadel sales rep. Listening to
motivational tapes with the tune of "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" in the
background sung in Gregorian chant, Angel began to assimiliate into the
Citadel sales nation. Shunning her sensible shoes, modest navy blue
skirt and striped oxford shirt, she now wore a leather skirt, a water
bra to accentuate her cleavage, "cleavage as leverage" and carried a
Citadel briefcase filled with projections, rate cards and some valium.
Accustomed to staying late at night to clean up after the messy production
room antics and the sales meetings, Angel stayed late into the evening
rummaging through her co workers desks to steal leads and faxes in order to compete.
She made her sales goals every month but the once young, pleasant young lass
turned into a nasty, conniving retch of a human being with no regard for
people, things or places she knew before.
One day, Angel did not exceed the Citadel standard of selling 220% over the
cost of the William Bennett program. The boom came down on an embittered
Angel who was escorted out of the building by the new girl at Baltimore
Drive, Marvelous Prochinski, recently graduated from Valley View High.
Angel reportedly said to Marvelous, "Stay put, if you reach for the stars,
you'll burn like a greasy potato pancake at the Pond Hill Fireman's picnic."
A survivor, Angel has used her considerable skills gained as a radio sales rep,
relocating to Montrose where she is a well thought of and well known
dominatrix.
And that's what happened to the new girl at WARM, Angel Kulick.
