Must be pledge week.

>>>Must be pledge week.<<<

Week??? I dropped my long-time membership because almost every time I turned on 44, they were running a program with a phone number at the bottom of the screen and grinning people with a phone bank behind them.

Wendy Butler got that gig, huh? Word was that a few
commercial radio and TV guys and gals were jockeying
for that position.

Yeah, I alternate watching that, then flip
on the music channels on cable and talk up the
leaders. And they say my wife could've done better:
HAH!

She's one of the few who do----most of them stand there and stammer through the pledge breaks like deer caught in the headlights. This afternoon I watched one woman who couldn't speak English and another woman who couldn't remember the phone number---even though it was right there on the screen with her. But, hey---this isn't a TV board.

Brothers and Sisters! It's time to get "plugged in" to the Holy Ghost power of public TV and become an Angel Member!

Assuming that it's a radio board, then, I should hop in and say I used to pitch FM during pledge periods. Kept the phone number in front of me, read it s-l-o-w-l-y, unlike George Eclectic who speeds thru like an Indy racer, and did fun things that seemed to keep people listening and becoming members. Billy the Boss can't stand me, but couldn't argue with success; every time he walked by, I was ignored or glared at. Hey, can't argue with ka-ching and I was ka-ching'ing it in.
