What TV market is Warren County, NJ considered? I had always thought Philadelphia, but someone told me New York. I'd assume it'd have to be Philly, given it consists of Phillipsburg, which is right over the border from Easton.

Either way, it's a county hardly mentioned in either Philly OR New York newscasts.

Hey thanks! Neat map. I'll be darned: Warren County is under New York's market. I never knew that. How weird. That means Phillipsburg, NJ is New York. Yet Phillipsburg is right over the river from Easton, PA, and Phillipsburg has always had a strong affiliation to Easton.

I guess you have to draw the line somewhere. I always had thought, though, New York didn't start 'til one more county over to the east of Warren.

It's also the 3rd least populated county in the state of NJ, and over 40 miles to either city. Salem County, the least populated county, doesn't have anything much in terms of news stories coming from it either. Cape May gets lot more attention only because many people travel and vacation there, not just pass through it by highway.

I've seen an Action News commercial awhile ago (where I used the slow play on my TiVo), where they list counties in a scroll, and it did show Hunterdon and Ocean, two NY market counties, listed. Despite Dish and DirecTV still not offering it, there are enough cable or over the air viewers watching Philly stations from there. I don't believe they showed Warren though. It's just too far up north, and not fitting in their claimed viewing area of Southern NJ. The newscasts like NBC 10 market themselves to Southern NJ, not western Central and Ocean County.

None of the Philadelphia pro-sports teams claim Warren County (it's completely NY sports team exclusive), but Philly does have a claim of Ocean County.

Likewise, NY teams don't have claim of Allentown-Easton, but do have Wilkes-Barre and Scranton as far as PA.
