Warren Savage replacement announced

From the press release:

CHANNEL 2 ANNOUNCES NEW MORNING NEWS ANCHOR
COLLINS SPENCER JOINS PAM MARTIN AND KAREN MINTON ON CHANNEL 2 ACTION NEWS “THIS MORNING” 5-7 A.M.
ATLANTA (October 25, 2005) – Jennifer Rigby, news director for Channel 2 Action News, announced today that Collins Spencer joins Pam Martin and Karen Minton to co-anchor Channel 2 Action News “This Morning” from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. He will also co-anchor Channel 2’s one hour noon newscast.
“Collins joins a great team and brings a lot of experience to the morning newscast,” said Rigby. “He has made Atlanta his home over the last two years while working at CNN,” Rigby continued. “He is a seasoned journalist who knows our area and he already knows a lot of our staff at Channel 2 Action News.”
“I am looking forward to working with Pam and Karen and the rest of the Channel 2 Action News team,” said Spencer. “Atlanta is a terrific news town with a rich history on so many levels and a bright and exciting future.”
Spencer’s last two jobs have been at the cable network level. Most recently, he spent two years at the anchor desk of CNN Headline News and for CNN/US based here in Atlanta. Prior to CNN, Spencer worked as a news correspondent for Fox News in its Washington bureau. During his three years at Fox he covered the White House, Pentagon and Capitol Hill. He also covered the 2000 Presidential Campaigns, the Democratic and Republican Conventions and Election night.
Spencer received his initial reporting experience working for local stations in Washington, DC and in Richmond, Virginia. He received his degree in Broadcast Management from Howard University.
He lives with his wife and son in DeKalb County.

I'm a little in the dark here... where's Warren Savage? More appropriately, why was he replaced? I've watched Channel 2 my whole life and I don't like it when they change an anchor that I've become attached to. I don't think I'm going to get used to (Monica) Pearson either - although many congratulations are in order for the newlyweds. It's relieving to know that more and more women are able to get a firm grasp on the business and spiritual aspects of the world simultaneously - even in the later chapters of life. Love ya Monica!

I digress.... where's Warren?

I wrote about this in my ajc radio blog (http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/accessatlanta/radiotalk/) and in the paper. And I'm sure it's here on this radio-info board, too, somewhere. Warren said he just simply didn't want to do it anymore and was burned out. He was not specific about what he wanted to do next though he loves playing jazz.

Thanks Rodney... it's obvious that I don't have time to get more diversity in where I get my news. Run, Run, Run.
