This year started off with predictions that the Philly radio landscape would see the biggest changes since 1993. That a domino effect would take place. It looked to be true at first, with Y100 going, and Ben-FM, but since then we only had 2 major changes, with 950 going sports, and 94.1. Nothing really shocked Philly radio. Maybe Ben-fm was the closest with preventing wogl from going jack-fm.
Still Almost everystation 93.3, 94.1, 95.7, 96.5, 98.1, (Power99?), 100.3, 102.1, 102.9, 104.5, 105.3, 106.1, 950 (did I miss any?) had the possiblity of flipping. While some of this did indeed happen, nothing shocking to Philly radio (except maybe y100, but only to radio fans) happened.
So do you consider this past year a dud in the way it was expected to see the biggest changes since 93? If yes, what do you think happened? Were we just morons for thinking this back at the start of 2005? Also do you think the landscape will change much in 2006, or will end up like this year with a few changes?
