Was Bill Drake planning a comeback project?

Check out www.top40timeclock.com. I just stumbled on this web site, apparently developed two years ago, in which it appeared legendary radio programmer Bill Drake was going to make a comeback.

Does anyone know what happened to this project? I am a great admirer of Bill's work from years ago, particularly the Hit Parade format of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

It would seem that way. By most accounts, time (and old habits) have not been good to Mr. Drake and I saw the same site when it appeared some time back. It is still out there as a cobweb site, but I tried to email Drake back then using a link on the site and never heard back - not real good form if you were trying to get some action on a new project.

Didn't part of this involve leasing nighttime hours on
XEROK Ciudad Juarez ("X-ROCK 80"), and with its full
150 gallons, to air this project with several heritage
Drake jocks?

BTW, does anyone have an mp3 of the X-ROCK 80
shotgun jingle in the clear?

In the '90s sometime, Drake was putting together a satellite delivered Boss Radio format, featuring some of the surviving KHJ jocks including Humble Harve, and tied into it was some sort of revenue sharing with the stations, versus a barter or flat-rate subscription. He ran it up the flag pole, and no one saluted.

I don't think so. XEROK has not run even 50 kw for about 15 years or so.
