Was Charlie and the chocolate factory cut when shown on network TV?

(A very silly and pointless question I admit)

I've just been getting my fix of childhood retro watching a clip from my one of my favourite childhood films right here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj3WBfRZ5Nc

But I couldn't help wondering- was this ever shown in full on American Television? It is, after all, pretty critical of the medium "a pain in the neck and an IQ of 3"!- it's hardly a glowing recommendation is it?

Was this scene cut when the movie was shown- if it was shown at all!

They showed the full insertion of a Wonka Bar just like you remember it
