Was Laura Ingraham live on WBAP Friday?

I was listening to her show on Friday and she took a call from Dallas and she said she was happy to be live on WBAP. Was she filling in for Mark Davis on Friday or something?

Mark said Thursday that he was taking a couple days off in trade of working a couple days between Christmas and New Years. So they run Laura in his place. 9-12 EST is her normal live slot.

That begs the question...could laura ingraham be possible taking over the mark davis slot in the new year? Seeing how Citadel is a cheap operation and may want to cut staff further....

That could be true. I've noticed that her show has been breaking a couple minutes before the :45 mark in her last hour every day. It sounds like they are accomodating WBAP since it runs Paul Harvey at 10:45.

If I remember correctly Laura's clock requires her to break around :45 anyways. She has a clock similar to Rush's. I dont think Citadel would clip Mark. He's a money generator for them and I don't see BAP flipping.

It would make no sense for WBAP to ditch the most popular local radio talk show host in favor of a satellite delivered national show like Ingraham.

WBAP runs Paul Harvey at 10:45AM, rain or shine. If they have to fade down Laura to accommodate this, then so be it. It happened that way the other day, where a conversation with a caller was faded out of to go to my traffic report, then a couple of spots, and into Paul. When Mark's on, Mark's show length is carefully calculated to accommodate the pre-Paul break and ramp-up, down to the second.

Mark's back Tuesday, BTW.

Evevnthough im not the biggest mark davis fan, I still would prefer a local show in the mornings/middays slot than syndicated. Heck, id prefer more live and local shows throughout the day on WBAP.

I don't believe Citadel would pull the plug on Mark; however, if the Citadel brass ever thought they could pull off a better profit margin by letting Mark go and replacing him with a canned show, they'd do it in a heartbeat. It doesn't matter how good Mark is if his labor costs are sucking up a ton of dough. Just putting that out there. ;D
