Was Missanelli's Show today (4/5) taped beforehand?

Missanelli's NFL talk special show today sounds like it was taped beforehand? I am a fan, but this is a little strange for sports talk radio, is it not?

Gee, do you think that maybe Mike Missanelli, a prominent member of the local media, might have gotten an invitation to today's Phillies home opener, which just happens to coincide time-wise with the heart of Mike's show? And wouldn't a conscientious member of the media arrange to tape a special show beforehand?

Maybe? A remote possibility? Not too much of a stretch?

Hey! I'm a big Missanelli fan. Right now, he has the best sports talk show in the area. I've met him a couple of times and he's been gracious and willing to talk sports.

I was just making an observation. Further, I thought the timing was odd considering that the other day he was ribbing John Clark for missing the PHL 17 Phillies post game show due to attending a Green Day concert. However, I don't blame him for going to the Phillies home opener. I would have loved to been there myself.

Anyway, I really question 97.5's decision. Sports talk is live unless its a programmed block like Angelo & Co on Sat mornings. They should have had somebody live go against the Phillies game, esp when the game went south. Frankly, 15 minute taped interviews was not good radio for 4 hours.

A taped interview which hasn't aired before might be okay, but I can never bring myself to listen to "repeat" talk shows of any variety—sports, political, or otherwise. I don't mind substitute hosts, but as soon as they come on and say, "You're listening to a 'Best of' segment," I immediately turn it off, even if I hadn't heard it before.

There's something about talk radio which, for me, loses something if it isn't live. I know this sounds petty, but I can't even stand to listen to those summary play-by-play calls after a football game when I already know the outcome—except when it's Merrill Reese going into hysteria, LOL.
