Was Rush Pre-Empted By Obama On WGST?

I know this might be a far-fetched question, since anyone yelling out a window would get more listeners than WGST. But, on Thursday, WGST's new morning host Michael Smerconish did an interview with the President live from the White House. It was held in the 1 PM hour. Smerconish was saying on his morning show the day of the interview that some affiliates of his morning show would be going live with the interview, dumping out of whatever program is on the air at the time. In Atlanta, that means Rush Limbaugh. Does anyone know if Rush was pre-empted by his archrival Obama and Smerconish on WGST on Thursday afternoon? I can already report that Rush was pre-empted in Philadelphia on WPHT, but then again, that's Smerconish's flagship station, so heritage takes precedence in this case.

Honestly, why the hatred for this station? I can understand thinking a station is no good, or even sucks for that matter... but the hostility and anger targeted at WGST is almost scary.....

The best thing, for me, about WGST was the Kimmer's uncanny ability to be tongue in cheek about just about everything....up until about 2003..then I could eventually hear the war taking it's toll on him. Just an observation.

"Hate"? Life is too short to "hate" a radio station, or for that matter just about anyone or anything except for cockroaches and rutabaga. I certainly don't "hate" WGST. I do think the owner and management have made some terrible decisions and taken a once great radio station straight to hell in a hand basket. WGST has always been an also ran in the shadow of WSB. There was a time though, in the not too distant past when a line up of Tom Hughes, Neal Boortz, Clark Howard and the Braves made WGST a respectable radio station. Is there anyone on this board that still thinks WGST is still respectable?

Disappointment comes in many flavors. Clear Channel's overseeing oversight of its Atlanta cluster has created extreme disappointment here and is the model of "what NOT to do..."

Because of all the restrictions on streaming national content, is GST even going to bother having a "streaming link?' any more?

The shadow of a great former self, it is … 3 hour AM news block decimated to 2 minute local newscasts every half hour, and at night the local pieces are pre-recorded. Clear Channel should be fined for occupying a piece of the spectrum with nothing of consequence (except for Rush, of course).
