Was Studio 60 OTSS ever officially cancelled

Of course the show wasn't living up to ratings expectations, and it was pulled earlier this season. But was canned? I have not been able to find a press release on this. Could someone point me to a link where this was made official?

Or is this just one of those shows that just goes off the air, and never comes back without any information?

New Episodes will begin airing again on May 24th. It is still up in the air on if it is coming back or not. So, no it hasn't officially been cancelled, but the outlook on its future is not so good.

The exact word being used is "Shelved".
All NBC needs is another show to be doing worse than Studio 60 did...right?

Here's the source that used the term "Shelved":

Studio 60 was one of the best shows on television.

I looked forward to it every week, and taped every episode to watch again.

Character development! Walk-and-talks! Obscure pop music trivia!

Agreed, and the best part had to be the "realistic happenings"
Things that went on in the show that could just as easily happen at a network, like being locked out on the roof of the building!
Excellent!

My other favorite had to be the snake issue, but I think they went a little too far with it.

I hope NBC doesn't cancell Studio 60.

Thanks, but I don't really consider blogs to be official news.

Wow I agree 100% but it will probably take a miracle to get it renewed for next year. I lost faith in my fellow viewers when I found out "30 Rock" had higer ratings. "30 Rock" is an awful show. They kick Imus off MSNBC but leave this show on which shows some of the worst Black streotypes that I have ever seen. It's about as much fun as a train wreck.

I have never been accused of being a highbrow when it comes to my TV watching so the average viewer intelligence must be going down.

The interesting thing is, people downloading TV episodes on iTunes have kept "Studio 60" in the top 10 shows downladed. Maybe there is hope yet!

I read something earlier this week that said the sets were being taken down. A true shame, as I really love the series and I'd never watched either of Sorkin's other TV series.

I never watched THE WEST WING, but SPORTS NIGHT, which lasted all of one-season on ABC was also great. I don't know, I guess you have to be in the business to appreciate the "behind the scenes" story lines on both SPORTS NIGHT & STUDIO 60. I'm definitely going to miss it.

Quoting from the article:

"Nielsen doesn't include recordings in their ratings reports because it's assumed viewers are skipping commercials."

Not true. Nielsen does measure DVR/TiVo viewing. Whether or not it gets included in the ratings is up to the person requesting the report...they have the option of looking at only "live" numbers, or numbers that include both "live" and DVR/TiVo viewing.
