Was that Darren Tandy on WIBC?

I heard a new voice of WIBC's Saturday Morning Open Phones and during my 20 minutes of listening, he never gave his name. But it sounded like Darren Tandy to me. Hope it was...Shadeland Avenue did him dirty & if he lands at my favorite station, well, that'd suit me just fine.

God I wish I was on WIBC this morning! I've wanted to work there since I was 9! I think the world of David Edgar and would work for him in a heartbeat! Everyone in Indy radio has been so kind. David E., Scott Sands, my family at Cumulus Indy etc. My BIGGEST regret is that I didn't always reach out to my friends who lost their jobs over the past few years. That will NEVER happen again. Please don't make the mistake I did. If you have dear friends in the business, stay loyal to them no matter what.

N-D Radioguy is correct: Chris Wheat is a good man!

Darren

"Shadeland Avenue" didn't do it to him.

Tiny and Micro down in Atlanta did.

Nobody here had anything to do with it.
I plead guilty to laying blame where I had no direct knowledge of the facts...for that I apologize. A lot of really great people have been dismissed from Shadeland Avenue and whoever made those calls, it's a tragedy to see not only great people, but great friends as well end up on the short end of the stick. And yes, I too have heard many great things about Chris Wheat...I imagine being the bearer of bad news has been tough on him as well.

Darren : Apply at WIBC...with the way you handled callers on Country Lovin' for all these years, I think you'd make an excellent talk show host! I know Country Music is your first love, but your talents extend beyond Trace & Alan & Shania...

I guess I need to rephrase my question...Who was that masked man on WIBC Saturday morning?

That was WIBC's morning news anchor Joe Ulery today on Open Phones. He was filling in for Stever.

yep, your chances are GOOD, the way Indianapolis "Re-Cycles" (the SAME) people, from one station to the next you will probably end up somewhere right here in Indy. good luck Pilgrim.

Thanks...he sounds entirely different hosting talk than he does reading news.

I think Stever has been relieved of his Saturday AM responsibilities with the move to afternoons.

nobody gets fired in Indianapolis radio, they just get on 465 and keep going around and around until they hit the exit to the next radio station.
