Wondering if there was some sort of software/firmware update sent to many HD stations' FM transmitters on Saturday or so....
I was listening on a Sangean HDT-1X at home Saturday night, and the HD-2 channel went away. Suddenly, I had no HD at all, just the station's RDS info.
I waited for about 15 minutes, and it came back.
As I checked a few other channels, I found that several stations had no audio, even though they seemed to be on the air....both analog and HD stations.
Coming back to the first station, I found that I could no longer cycle through the usual on-screen displays.....big info, little info, clock, signal strength, etc.
After tuning to a vacant channel, and doing a re-boot, I found I could only cycle through the different displays on a couple of the HD stations, but not the rest.
I tried an older-version HDT-1, at work (KSL), and had the same results on Sunday.
KSL Radio's CE mentioned that one of their FM-HD stations also had a problem on Saturday evening, losing the HD for a while.
Did somebody send an update without notice? Do the HD transmitters even have internet connectivity?
Are we looking at a "Zombie Attack"
