Was WDIO the first in the nation to feature a 35 minute newscast after prime?

Hi, I just saw in a video from 1973 (37 years ago) that had a complete 10 pm WDIO (ABC, Duluth) newscast on YouTube that was about 40 minutes long, which was a pretty unusual time slot, & was anchored by Dennis Anderson, who's still with the station today. Now, this was 20 years before most stations expanded their local ABC/CBS/NBC local news from their usual 30 min. to 35 min. I heard most stations in the Salt Lake City market in the 80's, according to the Deseret News TV schedule, were also among the first markets in the nation for all three stations to have 35 minute newscasts. How about the big markets like New York & Los Angeles? When did they also go to 35 minutes? Any other markets besides Duluth & SLC prior to 1990 that went to 35 minutes? Tell us what you think.
 
I saw in a KSL schedule from 1976 that the station (like WDIO also had a 40 minute newscast). I think they were among the second in the nation, I think. Does anybody know?
 
I saw another Deseret News TV schedule from 1970 on Google News Search & found out that KSL had a 10:30 newscast that was 40 min. long, & that was before "Suspense Theater" at 11:10. So, I bet KSL was the first in the nation to have newscasts over 35 min. long. What do you think?
 
Usually, according to one of '70 schedules on KSL 5, the news would usually be on at 10:00 pm for 40 min. followed by Suspense Theater at 10:40 pm, according to the Deseret News.
 
OK, now I found another early KSL schedule from either late 1966 or 1967 from the Deseret News. It was the earliest 10-10:40 pm newscast in the nation, not WDIO. They were the second. According to the Deseret News from Feb. 15, 1967, KSL had a 10-10:40 pm newscast, followed by a movie called "The Enemy Below" (1957) at 10:40 pm. So there's your answer. KSL in Salt Lake City has had an expanded 35 minute 10pm newscast, which has been going continuously for 44 years, is among the first in the nation.
