Was WWNN Pompano sold?

Think it will go "True Oldies" like their Palm Beach stations? I listened to the stream for a little while. Man Scott Shannon really sounds old! Is he okay?
I'd be really surprised if it did. 1470 is virtually all brokered and blowing that out to play music wouldn't be a good business move. In fact, I could see it going the other way and the West Palm signals carrying the paid shows instead of the TOC.

I used to listen to TOC when it was on WAFC. Sounded good at the time.

I was scanning the FM dial this morning while waiting in to pick someone up and much to my complete surprise I heard True Oldies on 96.9 as well as 95.3 and 1470. They're branding as 'true oldies for Boca Raton and Broward.' Didn't think they blow out all those paid shows for music.

Paid shows will probably go away gradually as their contracts expire. Music actually sounds pretty good on FM. AM, well, AM is AM.

It should still be that way unless significant changes had to be made when the cell site was added to the southwest stick. W245BC is on the big, center day tower and translates 1470 onto FM channel 245.
If that is the tower I am thinking of there is access to it from the South gate, I was out there a while back working at a cell site and noticed it seemed like a hot AM tower to me as it has a huge base insulator and isolators for the 24 DC feeding the up-tower BTS's.

The first time I was out their was maybe 6 years ago, the cellular antennas and coax had been removed and the BTS's where installed up-tower, at that time I noticed a large crack in the base insulator, the last time I was there the crack had become larger and some of the insulator was missing.

I'll bet that insulator will make a rather unique sound when it fails and that tower drops a couple of feet.
