Rox, very aware of the previous post. Could anything be more different from religious programming?
We decided to soft-launch our format on 1310/1590 lSaturday, the 8th at at 6:00 PM and are now in Beta mode. Last week, we had lunch with Scott Fybush and discussed our format switch - which was reported in his column on Monday. We're taking a little bit different of a path for 1310/1590 than traditional radio in Western New york - or traditional radio in general.
WRSB is Western New York (even almost all of Upstate New York's) first Business News/Talk format. Conservative talk is very well served. Progressive talk did not look to be an option (partly on business, also partly on personal taste), and running a music format on AM is tough in a crowded market. With a focus on the economy and job growth, we are looking at a unique format to tap into those that invest, business leaders, and small business owners. After some time spent listening, we found the content very engaging and well presented.
Take a listen and find out what is different. We are offering local Business news along with traffic, weather and some local content that is in the works. Our entire lineup during the week focused on Business news/talk with. At night, we venture into Free-Market financial discussions with Peter Schiff and became the first Non-Salem radio station to syndicate their Ransom Notes program. On the weekends, we offer lifestyle content such as Sound and Vision Radio, Leo Laporte, Handel on the Law, and My Cool Inventions - something like Shark Tank (or Dragon's Den for our neighbours up north).
Have a listen if you're in signal range. 1310 East Side / 1590 West Side. Heck, people boating on Lake Ontario could even listen to us on 1590. You'll notice new audio processing on the physical plant at 1310 as well as a digital stream coming in the very new future.
