Washington, D.C. Gets Its Own "Pulse 87"

The big question... will it have a signal most people in DC can actually listen to...

From what I've heard the idea is to customize the music mix to each city that they enter. Not sure if the NYC talent will voice track or they will use locals. I guess we will all have to wait and see.

Yes, the 87.7 in DC has a strong signal in the NW and SW areas, and clear within the Beltway, and can be heard halfway to Baltimore.

What I want to know is, is it going to be 100% simulcast of WNYZ-LP?

I hope not. D.C., just like every market, has its nuances and every Pulse being launched, while sticking to the "brand", should have its own flavor.

Certain tracks that work well here may not necessarily work out in D.C. D.C. could actually lean a bit more "soulful" on its approach to dance music (Ultra Nate, Crystal Waters, Deborah Cox)

When will it start?

This would be interesting to see how the Pulse brand is gonna adapt to the local markets. I always thought DC was more of a hip hop vibe than anything.
