WASK is no Jack!!!

Tired Old Dog should be minding his own business and worrying about what
Mancow will do to the ratings of his morning show and the firings within
his company. He may be next.
Lafayette radio does not need his help!

You know what I would like to see in Lafayette..... Radio DISNEY. I was in Indy today, and you know what...for what they do..they do it EXTREMELY well. Id also like to see local programming on the SPorts Radio station, you gotta walk before you run. RADIO DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!

You are talking about something that someone would have to pour money into to promote in this town and it's not going to happen.

I'm a big fan of ANYTHING new on the dial in Lafayette. But look how much the "brand new" ESPN1450 is being promoted (a local sports show on there is YEARS away judging by how long it took them to wise up and go sports on the AM in the first place)? Nobody can think outside of the usual popular music programming, because all they can do is COUNTER program mostly ("Are they classic rock? Then let's go more NEW rock! Are they AC? Then let's go HOT AC! Are they country? Then let's go HOT country!" For crying out loud).

It would be nice to think that some radio station in Lafayette could simply flip their satellite to Radio Disney and then watch the money roll in, but it would take even a LITTLE push on the streets which requries money none of them are willing to spend.
OR they would see how it goes for ONE book, have measly ratings, and then say, "Oh well....we tried. NEXT FORMAT!".

Honestly, Radio Disney may be a great idea for AMP Lafayette to try on their AM. Think about it....Radio Disney would compliment WAZY's existing programming and be a "safe" CHR to play in the car for the kids that are too young to hear some of the edgier songs played on WAZY. Whatever numbers the station gets may take away from WAZY, but at least they stay in-house and may errode some numbers from their competitor. Playing armchair PD, sports would have been my primary choice for the signal since all of Purdue's sports broadcasting roster is on there (thanks to the WLFF simulcast) and they have in the past ran the Pacers, IU, etc. in the past. Radio Disney would be a nice secondary choice, though.

I wouldn't even recommend Radio Disney for WIBN.

That little station makes tons of money in Illinois, which is the reason why John Balvich will never make it a full-fledged Lafayette radio station.
