WASP 1130 Brownsville

WASP 1130 Brownsville signed on August 2 1968 with an award winning news team, "the bee line " and good Country Music. They turned in their license on June 28 2012 just 6 years shy of 50 years.

I just saw this post. I remember Bob Louge getting his start there as Bob Williams. They also ran a Chuck Harter program " For The People". Local O&O stations are a fond memory for me. I was raised on WBCW (Jeannette) with Al Caliste and Clair Thomas.

A little piece of WASP lives on in the form of the George von Benko Sportsline Show that airs on WMBS.
That was a Saturday fixture on the old 1130.
