Wassup in Columbus?

I'm noticing some changes down south at WRZQ (Q-MIX) in Columbus.
Chris (CJ) Miller departed last November from the morning show.
Replacing CJ as the co-host (the 5th or 6th to work with Dawn in the past few years) is Chris Fox.
Now, after a brief honeymoon, it looks like Dawn is Gone.
Replacing Dawn on the morning show (at least temporarily) is Nikki G (no stranger to central Indiana radio listeners).
In addition to her morning show duties, she is doing at least half of the mid-day show (noon to 3), leaving Sara Beth with a paltry 3 hours a day on the air. Jim Burgan was not on the air for nearly 2 weeks, and he was not on the air again today.
Any of you Columbusites know what's going on?

Jim was in Florida for a well earned vacation...not sure what day he'll return but it should be soon...

Jim deserves a break today!

It was no secret that CJ wasn't getting the jobdone. He sounded good enough on the air, but was lacking in supervisory skills and time management, and his people skills left a lot to be desired. according to what I've been told. In addition, there was a rub between CJ and Mike King (Station Manager) from day one. He has 6 months of liners/sweepers sitting on his desk to produce, some dating back to June (according to my source). At last check he had been interviewing with The United Way or Salvation Army or one of those 401k GROUPS, so we'll have to see how it al shakes out. I've also heard that he was doing some work for Greg Rakstraw at WXLW and WFDM.
I wish him well, of course.
As for Dawn, after getting out of bed at 4am for 5 or 6 years, she will be leaving the morning show, but will stay and try to make a full-time gig out of selling. She was recently married to a Columbus Lawyer, who also stepped down as the chairman of the local democratic party, so perhaps they are looking some stability, and more timer to devote to family life..
Again....I wish her well.
After talking to Jim, he returned from Florida last Monday, but took a sick day today battling the cursed cold\flu going around. He should return tomorrow (Thursday afternoon). The real changes at WRZQ and WYGB have been made on the second floor in sales. 2007 was a bit of a down year. Revenue was down and White River's WKKG and Y-106 managed to pull ahead from Q-MIX in the ratings (12+ Mon thru Sun) and KORN Country's juke box is near the cellar. There are tough times ahead at 9th & Washington... I'll be watching .... from a distance.
Where's Paul Kenny or Trent Michaels when you need him?

Columbus seems to be in a small case of flux right now. Lots of changes going on. Would really like to see the guys on Washington put someone live on KORN even if it was for the Morning Show only. Might help out a little bit. Just my thoughts. The jock formerly know as "Java" Joe Kelly. Still looking to get back in the biz again.
