Wasted Myrtle Beach Signals

I thought I would start a topic on wasted signals in Myrtle Beach.
Here is my list:
99.5
107.1 and 96.3 (as they are both The Sound)
106.5
94.5

Myrtle Beach can do without "The Sound" sure they just changed their format up to a Jack type like Bob-FM by adding some new music. We don't need two JACK type stations.
The new soft AC on 94.5 sounds good its something to go up aganist Star 92.1. To bad they couldn't move to the 107.1 and 96.3 signals and change the name how about Magic. Yes isn't that great, they could of just called it Fresh. Next when 101.7 goes to Charleston where is WKZQ going to go? Nextmedia can place it at 99.5 and move News/Talk not sure where buy 106.5 from Cumulus. Then Cumulus can just move Sunny to 100.3 and dump the Hot format.

It could happen. Whats everyones opinions???

96.3 is for Pawleys Island as thats what they say on The Sound for when listening. Won't 96.3 have to turn off as Myrtle Beach is getting 96.1 from Charleston. While speaking about 96.1 coming to Myrtle Beach will the signal be powerful?

96.1

The new 96.1 signal will be licensed to Forestbrook, SC. I'm assuming that WKZQ's format will move to the new signal. I checked out the coverage map on the FCC website. It looks like the signal will still cover Myrtle Beach, but it could get spotty up around Little River and northwestern Horry County.

That sucks, WKZQ has always been on the powerful 101.7 signal... Your right about all the wasted Low Power stations on the Beach. I remember how good DXing used to be at Myrtle Beach, I used to hear WHTK 99.7 from Port Royal S.C back before all those new frequencys. Used to be able to hear 96.3 THE HOT FM from the Moorehead City area all the way to Myrtle, used to get most the Charleston Class Cs,,, but not anymore.

The 101.7 signal isn't that strong now. But strong enough. To bad they can't turn off the 96.3 signal to make the new 96.1 signal when it comes to Myrtle Beach stronger. Anyone know when the signals in Myrtle Beach change takes place?
