WATD cut out tonight in Somerville by WCRI skip

I was just listening to WATD 95.9 FM in Marshfield here in Somerville, and a skip signal coming up from WCRI 95.9 Block Island, RI has just completely obliterated them with classical music. I don't usually get WCRI at all.

So much for tonight's "Wide World Of Blues" show. (I don't feel like streaming them on the computer).

sorry about that was this Thurday night? at 8:17 I got a call from the studio We went of the air for about half an hour. Couldnt find out way. But when i got to the Xmiter Site I could hear that station as if it was right in front of me.........Were work on turning the power up or getting a new Xmiter and going up on power but that is up to the FCC first

It was almost a month ago, and it was later in the evening. I don't think WATD went off the air at the time. WATD is a fringe signal here north of Boston, and that night there were unusual atmospheric skip conditions ducting from the southwest bringing WCRI up here loud and clear. WCRI doesn't usually come in up here at all. WATD being southeast of here was not in the direction of the ducting effect and therefore got no benefit from it, and their fringe signal up here was gobbled up by the unusual skip of WCRI.

That Block Island station seemed to have increased power or tower height a few years back. Was a time when you could listen to WATD all the way into Tiverton, on the way to Newport, now you are lucky to make it to Raynham and even Middleboro some days without getting stepped on by Block Island. I would think it is in each stations secondary fringe pattern so all the complaints in the world would do no good.
