After we receive your registration, a moderator will review it. After your registration is approved, you will be permitted to post. If you use a disposable or false email address, your registration will be rejected.
This isn't unique to Massachusetts. I've been aware of services like this in other states. Seems to be there's a national association that oversees such operations. There are volunteer announcers who read newspapers and other things for the blind. It's been on SCA for a long time, but I think some stations lease out their HD2s for the same thing.
It's not on any HD subchannels in the Boston area, but some college stations including WUML at U. Mass. Lowell and WDJM at Framingham State University put it on their regular FM signals at times when they don't have their own locally produced programming.
Here in Connecticut we have C.R.I.S. Radio. It's not available on any traditional OTA radio stations. You need to have a special receiver. In the past it was also on the SAP Channel of several different TV stations over the years. https://crisradio.org/
