I have now got my setup and running. I am using a battery operated timer on a water hose that is connected to a 75 foot soaker hose I got in Walmart. The water turns on every two hours for 20 mins. The hose is over the radials and grounding rods. My rangemaster is doing an awesome job of covering all of my listening area day and night. Day was also fine but night was tough. This really helped alot. One listener said to me what did you do, your signal is great!

In my earlier posts on this board I mentioned doing just that, except that I add a layer of fertilizer to the ground before I use the sprinkler as this increases the conductance of the soil, even though I live in an area close to the coast 1/3 mile to the beach, every little bit helps, which is why I get good range with the SStran... also I have 1/3 acre of nothing but radials (64) but will add 64 after Christmas break, hopefully done before I go to Florida.
Try the fertilizer, you'll thank me for it.... plus the grass will too!

I put the fertilizer down each month, and water the lawn every other day not a drenching, just enough water to get the soil moist... after a large downpour, I go out and fertilize again ... the grass loves it and it helps to bind the soil more and get better contact with the radials... plus it keeps the fertilizer from washing away... it all works out beautifully, neighbors love my grass, they have no clue why I take care of it so well...

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, if you aren't buried in snow, how about a picture? At least of the transmitter and mast. Nothing but snow and sleet here. ;-)

Sure, why not? Let me dust off the Nikon, and I'll take some good shots of my transmiiter box/base coil/tower pole, of course do you really want to see browning grass as it's dorment for the year till next Spring? I'll take one also...
I'll take some new shots of the studio so you can see that as well....

I think the fertilizer idea is good but I am concerned that here in florida the ground does not stay moist. I do flood the area every two hours, maybe excessive. In my case every two hours would what you call a large downpour. That would mean that I would have to constantly refertilize. I read some people mentioned kitty litter. I am not sure which direction if any I should go.
I do have a 15 thousand gallon built in swimming pool. Should I throw a ground wire to the bottom??? Would it help?? My kids wouldnt like it that I know.
