WATR's 97.7 FM signal

Saturday my Mom and I were out running errands. Our first stop was CMC Computers on Meriden-Waterbury Tunrpike in the Plantsville section of Southington. While she was getting her laptop looked at, I stayed in the car and discovered WATR 97.7/1320 playing automated Oldies music. 97.7 was crystal clear. We then headed up Old Turnpike Road and the signal continued coming in crystal clear. Mom decided she wanted to go to Boscov's in Meriden so we turned onto Meriden Ave. (The Southington Library is on the corner of Meriden Ave and Route 10). 97.7 was crystal clear all the way up Meriden Ave. We turned onto Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike and followed it into Meriden past Hubbard Park and 97.7 continued to be crystal clear. We turned onto the Chamberlain Highway and the signal was still crystal clear. We lost the signal when we turned right onto what I call the mall access road. - The no-name road that passes entrance to the Chamberlain Plaza and leads to the Meriden Mall where Boscov's is.

I've heard it on Main Street in East Berlin. That was via the FM chip on my Motorola TracFone. I knew it wasn't WCTY-FM from Norwich since 1-no country music to be heard and 2-the signal was too stable. The station wasn't "stepped on", as 97.9 FM from Windsor Locks/Hartford is spotty at best there.

I actually still can get WATR translator signal in Northern New Haven crystal clear near exit 8 on i91 inside my friend's property which is 15 miles away from the transmitter using a FM chip on my Samsung Galaxy S9 and my friend's car just to record the bandscan there. Although in New Britain where CCSU is located, WATR translator can't be heard at all.

Thats likely because of terrain shielding due to its location on west peak in meriden, because the map says you should get a fine signal.. but i can imagine its location does cause terrain issues
