WATV 900-AM REPLACEMENT TOWER JUST UP

Original tower in Pratt City went down in the April 2011 tornado. Since then they've been transmitting on a 120' flat-top tee horizontal wire. New tower went up last week, same location.

Odd but their signal in Leeds is weaker if anything.

530 from Cuba ("Relaxing with Raul") was very good

last night,though.

Radio Enciclopedia is great! I listen to it quite a bit. :)

Someone on the DX board mentioned the MW conditions
have been very quiet the past few days.
According to Eham a solar storm has been raging but is
now passing.
Listened a few nights ago on one rx and thought it
was bad since there was very little noise;this explains it.
530 was fine last night but could barely hear WSM.
Lots of absorption going on.

It's a shame they dropped C-Quam when they moved off the old decrepit Finley stick.

And now for some shameless self-promotion. Go to the WATV profile page on my website and check out the link to the aircheck from 1982 when the station was running the Kahn stereo system with no NSRC mask at all — the full 15 kHz monty. Sounds pretty awesome to me and it's a nice piece of radio history.
