With St Augustine's University losing their appeal for accreditation in March, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to
go silent on the AM station due to loss of funding. I have not dug into fcc.gov to see if they have filed anything to go silent, but It just seems
like the writing may be on the wall.
PMC broadcasting operates WAUG for their translator W250AZ "Hot 97.9". There was a agreement for them to purchase WAUG from the university for $20.00 but was quickly dismissed. They are an oddball, super latecomer AM connected to a university that is a commercial station. whatever the issue is, most likely falls on PMC to fix and not the university.
No STA filed for the AM but the TV station has an STA for operation with different equipment/lower power after lightning damaged the antenna.. they lost accredidation in 2023 and the TV station has been on the air sporadically since then. The TV STA request indicates they want to keep the TV Station going
