Wausau Gets A Rhythmic

Wausau, WI's Oldies station WOFM-94.7 (Formerly a simmulcast with WIZD-99.9 Rudolph-Stevens Point) stopped simmulcasting over a month ago. WIZD went local oldies while WOFM went satellite. Last week they announced a format flip.

New format as of 12 this morning, Rhythmic CHR as "Wild 94-7" with Geoff St. John of Wild San Francisco doing the imaging.

Midwest also owns sister heritage Mainstream CHR WIFC-95.5 Wausau which has been leaning more rock/hot AC as of this weekend.

They did the same thing in Green Bay in 2002 between heritage WIXX and once Hot AC WLTM.

To make up with the flip from oldies they are flipping WRIG-1390 from Standards (WW1) to Oldies within a week or so/

You got to hand it to Midwest Communications for bringing a Rhythmic to Central Wisconsin.

But on the other hand I'm still waiting for Milwaukee to get one to take on Mainstream Top 40 WXSS and R&B/Hip-Hop WKKV.
