This one is official from the KTWV Website and also from on-air promos... Starting Monday May 17, Kim Amidon replaces Brian McKnight in mornings. The website says McKnight will still do projects for KTWV and make appearances on the morning show. Morning co-host Pat Prescott remains and has top billing. The new show is called "Pat and Kim."
Amidon had been on KOST's morning show for many years till her contract there was not renewed a few years ago. She's been filling in more frequently on The Wave lately, including doing the morning show for a week subbing for McKnight only a few weeks ago. Prescott is a Wave veteran, co-hosting for a while with saxophonist Dave Koz and more recently with McKnight. You may remember McKnight had a hit with "Back at One" in the 90s. On the Wave morning show, he would sometimes sing and play the keyboards on the air.
If the website is correct, Prescott will continue to do 5-6am solo, with Amidon co-hosting 6-9am. That really doesn't make sense though. McKnight, being a musician, may have had the right to come on at 6am, but Amidon certainly doesn't need that first hour to sleep later due to a gig the night before.
