"Wave" spot on KCAL

JON BRUCE said:
Just saw an ad for 94.7 "The Wave" on KCAL between quake coverage. Should have been pulled.
KCAL news has run the "Wave" spot for a while now. :)

Why should they pull it? Has KTWV changed format? ???

No still the same format. More of Smooth AC. KCBS and KCAL are co owned with CBS radio so they run KTWV ads and the other CBS Los Angeles stations.

I think the OP is linking the ad with the devastation from the tsunami. That would be like pulling car ads from around any newscast block that reports on a deadly multi-car pileup.

Pulling the Wave spot makes no sense. If it was an airline spot after an airline tragedy that would be one thing, but there's no reason whatsoever to pull a radio spot from news coverage about an earthquake on the other side of the world...

Reminds me of a radio station here in the Bay Area, back in the '80's called 98.9 The Quake!

Sounds a little too spooky to me. The station was 98.9 The Quake, and The Quake occurred in 1989.

Did Nostradamus predict that?
