Waving at 95.1 in Ipswich?

From my facebook, Christopher Porter writes:
>>Thank you for all the support over the years and spreading the word! The Big 88 lives on! Hopefully we will be back and bigger then ever on your FM radio dial (this time with a license lol) in the next year or two! In the meantime keep supporting the station by listening online and on low powered 95.1 FM in Ipswich!

A legal LPFM or a... (walk the plank, matey!) Well, who knows, if I'm around Ipswich we'll see if this Wave descendent is on, and how powerful. Why does he say hopefully "we will be back...on your FM dial" and then goes on to say listen to 95.1? Does that imply he IS back?

95.1 FM is operated under part-15 rules for the local business's to listen to. We are applying for a license when the window opens up thats what I meant by hopefully we will be back bigger then ever. We are licensed as in internet station under the company New England Broadcasting.

Chris you better study the Part 15 rules again. If you can pick it up 20 feet from the FM transmitter your probably illegal. And no license is needed to stream on the Internet but you do need to pay your music licensing fees.

As long as it's legal; I don't know about the FM range but there was an LP _AM_ in Derry NH for awhile (1700, though not on anymore) and if this station can keep it legal, that's fine (I don't know if it would cause problems for people trying to pick up WHRB or that ME station at 95.3...

@Raccoon Its not strong enough to interfere with anything. You can be standing right next to the transmitter and pick up 95.3 without any problems. Kiss 95.3 WSKX-FM out of Maine is usually the signal that dominates that frequency there though. WHOM on 94.9 FM can also be picked up without a problem standing right next to the transmitter. It's a part-15 station so its not like your standing next to a full powered transmitter. The thing is tiny lol. If you have any questions feel free to email me at: [email protected]

As long as it's tiny and legal...unlike the folks like Datz Hits who interfered (and they had a LOT more power than you) with WCRB and aircraft radio

Ramsey dosen't certify anything.

The commercial "radio station in a box" is certified. They are deployed all over the middle east with the US military. I know the owner and he did pretty well with them.

Yes and they were carrying my show earlier on WMWM 12-3p...supposedly an internet station trying for a legit LPFM license? Don't know if it's actually on air at 95.1 in Ipswich though see earlier in the thread, maybe flea-powered?

We're an internet station running a small part 15 (Ramsey transmitter) on the side. And yes we have big plans for the station in the future (wish us luck). We are good friends with the host of Sunday Night Chill who was happy to simulcast the show on our station. He set up a dedicated CD quality audio feed for us to rebroadcast. He's also been to the studio lots of times to help us set up and fix various equipment.

One thing I can say is that "Sunday Night Chill" on WMWM and Cool FM is such a good show that the folks at WMJX HD2 Smooth Jazz could learn a few things about what

good music is rather than the schlock that they are playing.

Thank you guys for all the support and kind words :). COOL-FM is a unique station which is what makes it so great! Plus the people I work with are awesome and live and breath radio. We're all one big happy family. And yes Sunday Night Chill is an awesome show and we're glad to have it part of our lineup!

Thanks! You made my day. I'm going to be on the road for the next two weeks but you can catch similar programming on my web feed at www.cjazzchannel.com 24/7.

I was flattered that Cool-FM wanted to pick up the show. It was originally my intention to try to do some small time syndication with it.
