WAVO asks for donations to maintain radio format

VChimpanzee,

If you go to 1150WAVO.com, you should see some pictures of fried xmtr parts.

Tom Gentry is the GM who made the announcement & does do some spots.

I love the station, but a couple of weeks is more than enough time to announce that they had a lightning strike, coupled with their music licensing fees fund drive.

Time to move on.
I did go there at home, but didn't see anything. I checked Saturday at the library and those photos came up just like that. However, I had no idea what I was seeing.

I also saw the thermometer for the fund drive. It looks like they were close, though the numbers didn't quite line up with the lines.

I packed my radio already since I was planning to go to the beach. None of the other radios in the house pick up WAVO, so I can't find out that way. Going out to the car is too much trouble, but supposedly if I don't start it, I can get a signal. If it's running, there's no way.

I heard WAVO yesterday. The music sounds good as usual. I guess they succeeded in reaching their goal. I haven't thought to look at the thermometer on their web site, but like I said it might not work at home.

I guess the requests for money will be coming back soon.

Meanwhile, an obvious advertiser for the over-55 audience: a Johnny Mathis concert.
