WAVO in Rock Hill Simulcasting WMIT

Maybe a delayed simulcast?
I've noticed some stations can be up to 30 seconds or more behind another station that simulcasts the same broadcast on another channel....

For example, 105.9 W290BW Greenville SC, simulcasting 103.1 WHQA from Anderson SC is about 10 seconds delayed...and also 97.5 WCOS has about a 5 second delay between it's analog and HD signal, Last time I checked these recently...
I can get both WFGW-106.7 (and translator 98.1) and WMIT in Knoxville, and for whatever reason WFGW can be 5 seconds ahead of parent WMIT.

104.3 makes more sense in Matthews than it does in Charlotte. WMIT needs no "boost" on 106.9 MHz (as vchimpanzee has brought up) as it ''Booms'' into Charlotte straight from Black Mountain. However, if it were up to me I'd actually have applied for Harrisburg, NC, Midland, NC -or- possibly Concord, NC to avoid the interference that KyleAndMelissa22 has brought up that will likely occur on 104.1 in/around Monroe from 104.1 MHz out of Rock Hill, SC.. Steve.
I said it "Booms" into Concord. But it may have just been that part of town.

Not in Charlotte to check, but I wonder how far the 104.3 in Matthews gets out....probably takes care of most of the eastern part of the city and metro of Charlotte to Monroe and Concord....Coverage map still not available on RL but hopefully soon.

In a related topic, I was able to hear the 88.9 signal from the Clemson area reaching Mauldin SC (WSNW simulcasting WMIT) perfectly synchronized...Not a bad reach for a translator.

Might I suggest "translator insurance"? I can imagine it's possible for a 106.9 translator to pop on in Charlotte.

Got to visit Rock Hill this past weekend.
I was able to check 101.5 WAVO as well as 106.9 WMIT..
It was not a perfect synchronized simulcast, I think it was about 10 or more seconds delayed on the 101.5 signal.

As far as signal strength, the western part of town got a better signal on 106.9 than on 101.5

There was some static audible on 101.5 coming into town from York but not on 106.9

Maybe moving 101.5 further east towards Lancaster would be better because 106.9 already has a decent signal in most or all of Rock Hill...It helps a little bit, but this is an acquired site, maybe it can be modified/adjusted further east.

107.1 WRHM didn’t seem to be an interference problem in Rock Hill either since their site is far enough away to not bleed over.

Other than downtown Rock Hill near the transmitter site, 101.5 seemed redundant.

Not surprised, but it might be better if they synchronized the signal as they did with 88.9 in Clemson
