OH yeah...that's the one. I remember hearing something about that. Probably from you. Back before you stopped calling to gossip at least twice a week. Wait...MediaTech...do I know you...my memory is fading...

Does anybody know whether or not they have rebuilt the tower? Also, does WAVO simulcast with some of the other Buck properties on the outskirts of Charlotte?

WAVO is part of the Heaven Radio simulcast that includes 1240 WHVN/Charlotte and 1270 WCGC/Belmont-Gastonia.

The tower hasn't been replaced as yet. Only the top 40 feet folded over, so they just cut it off, reset the ATU for a match, and resumed operation, with the intent of replacing the tower and ground system as part of the power upgrade.

They trimulcast now? Huh. When they were run seperately, somebody at WAVO made the mistake of putting an ad in the Charlotte Knights season preview guide that hailed them as Arbitron rated #1 in whatever county, Chester maybe? Somebody had to go rub out that statement in every guide.
