WAVO Weather With Wes Jones

In my opinion, a local forecast that makes the station sound more personal.

Wes also works for WAVOs' sister station in High Point.

He is the sole employee of GHB Broadcasting (or whatever subsidiary name they're using there) in the High Point studio building, and primarily there to meet FCC requirements. Wes is a good voice, and I'm glad to see that GHB is using him in a creative capacity. It beats sitting there listening to folks speaking Spanish all day.

Later . . . .

Thank's AMFM RADIO! and Matt. I told them to keep me busy as possible. Also doing the WX for WTIX and WAME! Production as well. These are great people to work with. Very professional! Mr. Vchampisee what would you like to hear me say in Spanish?

Oh, by work they meant off-air.

So all the on-air work is for stations other than WIST?

Correct! I do no on-air work for WBLO or WIST-FM. Thanks folks for all the kind words. I have had a great ride in this business. Hard to believe I have been getting a pay-check from some broadcasting company for almost forty-five years. I have worked with many great people who are now good friends.

I was listening to WAME on the way to the mountains and thought I heard Wes Jones but it was Wes Turner. At least I think that was his name. WAME, WAVO and WIST all have the same owner, last time I checked.
