WAXQ's response

Looks like "New York's Led Zepplin Station" is ramping up its responce to its perceived threat from WXRK. Whitesnake, GnR, the Scorpions et al are getting airplay. Will this tweak be enough to fend off K-Rock, or does their refusal to play the Seattle and grunge bands of the early 90's leave their brand impaired?

weren't those artist you listed already being played on Q? I remember one night I tuned in and did a double take cause I heard Soundgarden Fell on black days. I guess the grunge is Classic since it is 15 years old!

Perceived, remotely. Threat, non-existant.

And it appears based on the news lately that K-Rock will be, as well.

If anything, Q and Clear Channel in general has a lot to lose if CBS does a double-flip to WNEW 102.7 as a AAA and AMP 92.3 as a CHR.

GnR would get some ariplay...not the other bands. Those are K-Rock bands. And take a look at WAXQ's foolish website, its a picture of Led Zepplin from like 1969.

I wonder if WXRK is perking up in middays and afternoons, pulling share way from Q. Could it be that Nik carter and Chris Booker and Nik Carter might be making some headway holding the supposed O&A lead in?

"k-rock bands??" Q104.3 has played Soundgarden and some of that 90s stuff for years now.

There is nothing 'foolish' about Q's website, nor are they worried at all about K-Rock. They clobber them book after book.

It's like a small child looking up to a 500 lb gorilla saying "I'm gonna beat you up"....yeah..how about no.

Eddie trunk is the Life line to metal in NYC in my book...
Unfortunately, I am always up in VT Skiing these days or up for work at 5:30 saturday morning for work

they aren't acting scared....they've ALWAYS played these bands you claim is new for them..."Whitesnake, GnR, the Scorpions"...always been played there.

I'm still not seeing the point of this thread...lol
