Waxy 106 Commercials youtube

I found some commercials from WAXY 106 on you tube. It was really a great sounding station back then. For you loyal listeners Rick Shaw has the "Black Box" in his hand in one of the commercials. Check it out. I think with the Y-100, 96x, I95 battles, we didn't realize how good WAXY sounded. Just my two cents :)

Really cool!

The first station I ever worked for. Long before Rick Shaw got there. I miss WAXY-106.

Back in the old days when I worked there I got my first radio paycheck. It wasn't much money but I proudly went to the bank with it. At the time WEXY and WAXY had the same owner. The teller looked at the check and said what's a Wexy-Waxy? So much for my big time radio job!

Still would like to know what audio processor the "black box" was on WAXY ;D

Great stuff! When I lived in South Florida (early 80's) WAXY was my favorite radio station, followed by WSHE (loved their Psychedelic Sundays!).
