WAXZ no more?

I heard the MAX-FM legal ID that no longer mentions WAXZ. I go to Radio-Locator and it says there is no such station as WAXZ. It's now WKCA, and has been since October, and no longer owned by First. When will this finally move and allow WOXY to go to Mason?

The construction permit was granted to move the Georgetown, Ohio 97.7 FM station with the new call letters - WKCA - to Salt Lick (Morehead) Kentucky over a year ago.
Not sure when they will "close up shop" in Georgetown but my guess is soon - maybe after Jan. 1, '08?
The MaxFM move to Mason construction permit expires June 1, 2009 and has been granted for what seems like forever (almost 2 years).

First Broadcasting still has an application pending to move WAOL, Ripley, Ohio @ 99.5 a little closer to the metro - Amelia, Ohio.

And to make the story more intersting, wonder how - if and when - the 95.7 application to move WHIO, Piqua, Ohio @ 95.7 to Sharonville is going to play in to all this. Tha app. has been pending for almost a year.

I really hope they don't try the "triple-play" and simulcast/broadcast MaxFM from Mason, Amelia and Sharonville....waste of frequencies but maybe smart business decision to cover the metro?

Any thoughts or updates anyone?

I would guess that WOXY will move to Mason as soon as 1180AM sign's on which will cover Georgetown OH. WAXZ now WKCA is on the air in Morehead KY which is why it's no longer included in their hourly ID.

The "backfill" for covering Georgetown is supposed to be a move by WRAC 103.1 from West Union.

The AM 1180 move is the "backfill" to cover Ripley...so it has to happen with the 99.5 move.
