From R&R:

Ohio
WAXZ-FM/Georgetown (Cincinnati)
PRICE: $60,294
TERMS: Asset sale for cash
BUYER: Gateway Radio Works, headed by President/Treasurer Hayes McMakin. Phone: 859-498-5608. It owns three other stations. This represents its entry into the market.
SELLER: First Broadcasting Investment Partners, headed by Pres /Vice Chairman Gary Lawrence. Phone: 214-855-0002
FREQUENCY: 97.7 MHz
POWER: 5kw at 351 feet
FORMAT: Classic Hits

You'll recall that First paid $4 million for WAXZ and WAOL (and $5.6 million for WOXY). That's one hell of a return on that investment, eh?

Shaggy/Jeff Nagel has left 97.3, according to a trade to "spend more time with family". GM Mike Fredrick is accepting resumes.

Probably part of the reason for the low price is "other considerations" (i.e. paying off Gateway). Note in the following:

that Gateway filed a competing allotment request against the First Broadcasting application...and then subsequently withdrew it. Hmmmm....
