WAY-FM now on W256CD in Birmingham

The WAY FM programming made the move to 99.1 W256CD a short while ago, with 89.9 W210CA still airing WAY FM.

I just heard the new 99.1 station ID mention "WZGX-AM, Bessemer"? :O I do remember that WZGX was originally going to be paired with 99.1 years ago when the Reynolds bought WZGX and W256CD (99.1 was to rebroadcast WZGX), but that never materialized. I just checked 1450 AM and not hearing anything, as usual. I'm 25 or 30 miles from the WZGX transmitter location, so I'm not sure if the station is operating on reduced power or has been off the air the past several months. The only other call signs given in the station ID are WBHJ HD3 and W292EI (WAY-FM station licensed to Warrior); W256CD is not mentioned at all.

Just checked the station ID. The mention of WZGX is no longer there. Only calls now given are WBHJ HD3 and W292EI (still no reference to W256CD, however). Oddly enough, when the 99.1 translator first came on the air several years ago as "99.1, The Game", WZGX was given during the station ID then also, even though WZGX never aired the "Game" programming.

Never mind...99.1 is once again giving WZGX-AM in their station ID, although the IDs rotate throughout the day and sometimes WZGX isn't mentioned. Why WZGX is even stated at all?? Bizarre...
