Yeah, they broke off the simulcast of sister WALV "Alive 95" (CHR) about a month ago. They are now "Cat Country 93.9". I really haven't gotten to listen to it and check it out much, but I did sample it for a short time the other day. I noticed that "Captain Bobby Byrd", formerly of WUSY "US101" Chattanooga, and WOKI Knoxville, is with the station. I heard him doing a remote. Also, when I was in Athens the other day, I noticed they have a new building on Hwy 11 for the Cat Country studios with a new sign up already. Seems they are going to focus the station on the Athens and McMinn, Monroe, and Meigs county areas (going directly after WJSQ 101.7 Athens). Should be interesting to see how they do.
